Privacy

This notice explains how PROFLUENCY LTD (“we”, “us”) uses personal information when you visit profluency.co.uk, write to us, join a list, or buy Dime Más products. It is written for a small UK company, not as legal advice. The data controller is PROFLUENCY LTD.

Last updated: 23 October 2026.

Who we are

ProFluency is how we trade. Dime Más is a ProFluency range, not a separate company. We make conversation tools; this site is not a learning platform. Our public inbox is info@profluency.co.uk.

What we collect

We only collect what you give us, or what is needed to run the site:

  • Contact form: name, email, message, and the consent tick that you agree we may use the details to reply.
  • Events form (“save a seat”): name, email and town. There is no ticket sale on this site.
  • Review form: name, email, star rating, your review, and the tick that you agree we may publish it. If we publish it, only your first name, last initial, rating and words appear on the site.
  • Newsletter form: email, and sometimes a tag that shows which page you signed up from (for example a waitlist for a journal that is not yet for sale).
  • Server and hosting logs: our host, IONOS, may keep ordinary web logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site running and secure.
  • Product pages: your browser may store a live Amazon price in local storage so the figure on the page can stay in step with Amazon UK. That is stored on your device, not in our inbox.

We do not ask for payment details on this website. If you buy with a “Buy now” button, checkout is hosted by Stripe (stripe.com), which takes your card details under its own privacy notice and also uses them to prevent fraud. Stripe passes us your name, email, delivery address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered, so we can post it and keep the records the law requires. We give your name and address to the postal service that delivers your parcel (such as Royal Mail). If you buy on Amazon UK, Amazon is responsible for payment data under Amazon’s own privacy notice.

Why we collect it (UK GDPR)

We use personal information under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018:

  • To reply to you when you send the contact form — contract (steps at your request) and, where you have ticked the box, consent.
  • To write when there is a table in your town — legitimate interests in running hosted evenings, and consent where you have asked us to keep you in mind.
  • To send the weekly letter or a “tell me when it’s ready” note — consent. You can stop at any time with the unsubscribe link in every letter, or by writing to info@profluency.co.uk.
  • To publish your review — consent, given with the tick on the review form. Ask us at any time and we will take it down.
  • To keep the site working and secure — legitimate interests.
  • To post a direct order, handle returns, and keep the tax records — contract, and legal obligation for the records. Buying does not add you to the Monday letter or any other list.

We do not sell your details. We do not use them for automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect.

How long we keep it

Contact messages stay long enough for us to reply and deal with any follow-up, then we delete them in the ordinary running of a small inbox. Newsletter and events lists stay until you ask us to remove you, or until the list is no longer in use. Newsletter signups are kept by our mailing-list provider, Kit. Contact, events and waitlist messages arrive as emails in info@profluency.co.uk. Order records (name, address, what you bought and what you paid) are kept for six years after the end of the financial year of the order, because UK tax and company law require it.

Who we share it with

The contact, events, review and waitlist forms send what you type to FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a form-to-email service, which passes it on to our mailbox on IONOS (1&1 IONOS). IONOS also hosts this static Astro site. We have not connected Brevo, Mailchimp, Google Analytics or similar. The code can record a named click if a cookieless analytics script is added later; nothing like that is loaded today.

Newsletter signups also go to Kit (kit.com), which sends the weekly letter and keeps a record of when you joined, confirmed and unsubscribed. Kit tells us when a letter is opened or a link in it is clicked. We do not use that to build a profile of you.

If you buy Dime Más Cards on Amazon UK, you leave this site and Amazon handles the order. If you follow a link to Instagram, you are on Meta’s service, not ours. We do not embed an Instagram feed that loads Meta cookies on this site; the pictures on our pages are our own files.

On product pages your browser may fetch a public copy of the Amazon listing through allorigins.win or corsproxy.io so we can show a current price. Those services see the request from your browser. We do not send them your name or email.

Cookies and similar storage

We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. See the cookies page for hosting cookies, local storage, and what is not in use.

International transfers

IONOS is a German group; hosting and mail for this domain are arranged through IONOS in Europe. Amazon and Instagram are their own businesses and may process data outside the UK. Kit, our newsletter tool, is based in the United States, so your email address is stored there under Kit’s data processing terms. FormSubmit may also handle form messages outside the UK. Stripe may process payment data in the United States under its own safeguards for international transfers.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and (where the law allows) to move your data. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it. Write to info@profluency.co.uk and we will respond.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would rather hear from you first. If you live in the EU and EU data protection law applies to you, you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.

How to contact us

Privacy requests: info@profluency.co.uk. Please say what you would like us to do. We may need to check it is you before we change or delete a record.
